My name is Will Terwort, and I am running for the open State Senate seat in Kenton County. I am a lifelong resident of Kenton County, and currently serve on Fort Mitchell City Council.
I am running to do what I've always tried to do, which is to make Kenton County an even better place to live and work. As a citizen activist, I collected signatures for a petition drive to give Kenton County voters an opportunity to repeal a $3.4 million dollar property tax. I have worked to rein in unelected, runaway bureaucracies. I have enjoyed making Fort Mitchell government more transparent by getting city expenditures posted online. I was the first Northern Kentucky councilman to question the spending practices of the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC), and worked with Frankfort to bring accountability to the KLC.
With all of these experiences, it is now obvious to me that there are certain things that only Frankfort has the legal authority to do. That is why I am running for State Senate. Frankfort can help or hurt Kenton County, and I will be your voice in Frankfort for our community.
I ask that you look at my platform and my record, and stand with me to protect and promote Kentucky's conservative values. I need your vote in the Republican primary on Tuesday May 22, 2012.
